I’ve been passionate about photography ever since I received my first very simple analog camera. For many years my photography was restricted to travels. A few years ago I realised that you do not have to travel to far away places to find interesting motives… I discovered that my new hometown Cologne has beautiful spots and that German wildlife has a lot to offer! I spotted a kingfisher at the beginning of 2020, this is when I really started with wildlife photography.
Wildlife photography has become a real passion, it grounds me and I just love animals. With my photos I want to show people the beauty of nature and the importance of protecting it!
From a photographic point of view, wildlife photography is a lot about research and patience. You have to be quick and precise when the moment comes, but the camera settings are mostly the same. With city photography I can “play around” with the settings of my camera. It is more about art and creating images by playing with light. I love to experience with shutters speeds and apertures.
My gear:
I’m “Team Canon”. I have the Canon EOS R5 and l love it. I have a few lenses to go with it:
- Canon RF 100-500mm L (This is the one I mainly use for wildlife)
- Canon RF 24-240mm
- Canon RF 16mm
- Canon RF 35mm
- Canon RF 800mm
- Tamron EF 90mm Macro
I use ND filters a lot at daytime for my city and landscape photography. Additionally I have a DJI Mini 2 drone and the GoPro 12 Black.
Do I have dreams?
Oh yes, my bucket list is long:
- Costa Rica
- Safari in Botswana or Tanzania
- Alaska
- More Puffins
- Antartica
- …
My biggest dream is to become an expedition photographer. If you have an opportunity for me, let me know! 😉
